Service & Maintenance Engineer – Emergency Lighting & Fire Alarms (Subcontract)\nV7 are seeking skilled Service & Maintenance Engineers to work on a large-scale public sector project in North Yorkshire. This is a long-running contract with our client, offering consistent, ongoing work and great potential for long-term subcontract opportunities. The role involves servicing and maintaining emergency lighting systems and fire alarm systems across a range of public buildings, including housing, education facilities, and care environments.\nRole Overview\n * Carry out routine servicing, testing, and compliance checks on emergency lighting in line with BS 5266.\n * Service, fault-find, and repair both addressable and conventional fire alarm systems in accordance with BS 5839.\n * Respond to reactive maintenance calls and complete remedial works where necessary.\n * Provide clear service reports and communicate findings with site contacts.\n * Ensure all work is carried out to relevant industry standards and safety regulations.\nWhat’s On Offer\n * Stable, long-term subcontract work with a reputable contractor.\n * Monday to Friday schedule, with optional weekend work.\n * 6-month rolling contract with the potential for multi-year engagement.\n * Rates from £33 per hour, with enhanced overtime rates available.\n * Outside IR35 – weekly payments every Friday.\nWhat We’re Looking For\n * Proven experience servicing emergency lighting and fire alarm systems.\n * Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.\n * Familiarity with industry standards BS 5266 and BS 5839.\n * Electrical isolation qualification .\n * Experience in housing, education, or care environments.\n * Must hold a current DBS check
