We are expanding our team and looking for a skilled Fire Alarm Designer to support our continued growth.

Position Summary

The Fire Alarm Designer is responsible for designing, layout, and coordination of fire alarm systems in compliance with applicable codes and project specifications. This role works closely with project managers, field teams, and clients to ensure accurate, efficient, and high-quality system designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72, local codes, and project specifications
  • Develop detailed drawings, layouts, and submittal packages
  • Perform device layouts, battery calculations, voltage drop calculations, and system risers
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, AHJs, and field personnel
  • Review plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure design accuracy
  • Revise drawings based on redlines, field feedback, and code updates
  • Support permitting and approval processes as needed

Qualifications

  • Experience in fire alarm system design (2+ years )
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and relevant codes/standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar design software)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Qualifications

  • NICET Certification (Level I–III) in Fire Alarm Systems
  • Experience with commercial, industrial, or government projects
  • Knowledge of suppression systems or integrated life safety systems
