A. Purpose and Scope
The Field Technician (FT) is responsible for making sure all equipment in the field is installed and maintained correctly at each customer’s site; also, responsible for good customer service relations including but not limited to consistent and clear communication with the client, proper follow-up, and providing solutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
B. Responsibilities
The Field Technician installs devices and products, calibrates and maintains installed equipment, develops test procedures and fixturing as required. He/She is responsible for maintaining field records and performing installation/operational/ and performance qualifications. The Field Technician is also responsible for complying with quality systems procedures as required. It is the Technician’s responsibility for making sure the proper information is put in the company database, such as ACT. After receiving the proper training, the Field Technician will go on call and answer Emergency Service Situations.
C. Organization Relationships
The Field Technician reports to the National Service Director and/or Lead Field Tech Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A. Education and Training
The Field Technician should have a two-year technical degree, or equivalent experience as determined by the Field Service Manager.
B. Technical Requirements
The Field Technician is required to complete supervised in-house training, as well as, read and understand any pertinent training or department procedural manuals to become proficient on all systems maintained by Safepoint Scientific.
C. Experience
Prior experience is preferred but not required.
D. Travel
The Field Technician will be required to travel full-time to any location inside and outside the US and be able to work flexible hours. Responsible management of travel expenses is required. Travel expenses will be covered by SafePoint Scientific but a driver’s license and reliable car is needed.
