Field Services Engineer in United

Job Description

Field Service Engineer – High-Speed Filling SME

\n

USA | Remote or Site-Based

\n

Circa $140,000 Base | 12% Bonus | Comprehensive Benefits

\n

\n

Are you a Field Service Engineer with genuine expertise in high-speed filling equipment?

\n

\n

Oliver Carol Recruitment is supporting a leading US food and beverage manufacturer in the search for an experienced Field Service Engineer / High-Speed Filling Subject Matter Expert.

\n

\n

We are particularly interested in engineers who have developed their expertise working with leading high-speed filling OEMs such as Tetra Pak, GEA, JBT/Stork, Krones, SIG/Combibloc, Liquibox, or similar.

\n

\n

The Opportunity

\n

This isn't simply another Field Service Engineer position.

\n

Our client is looking for someone who can become a genuine technical subject matter expert within the organization — the person people turn to when a difficult filling, processing, or packaging problem needs solving.

\n

\n

You'll support high-speed equipment across multiple manufacturing locations throughout the USA, troubleshooting complex issues, supporting preventive and corrective maintenance, improving equipment performance, assisting with installations and commissioning, and transferring your knowledge to local engineering and maintenance teams.

\n

\n

You'll work across mechanical, electrical, and automation systems, including PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation, and controls. The role requires someone who can diagnose problems independently and work effectively with minimal supervision.

\n

\n

Travel & Location

\n

This role can work in two ways, depending on where you want to live and how much travel suits you.

\n

\n

If you're US-based and remote, expect about 75% travel. A typical assignment involves spending around 7–10 days on site, supporting one of the company's manufacturing locations across the United States.

\n

\n

Travel typically involves a mix of project work, specialist site support, troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintenance.

\n

\n

Alternatively, if you're willing to base yourself near one of the company's manufacturing facilities, travel can drop significantly to about 20–30%, primarily for project and specialist site support.

\n

\n

For an experienced OEM Field Service Engineer who still enjoys the equipment, technical challenge, and variety of field service but wants to spend considerably less time living in hotels and airports, the site-based option could offer a very different lifestyle.

\n

\n

What We're Looking For

\n

The key requirement is genuine, hands-on expertise with high-speed filling equipment.

\n

\n

You'll likely have developed your career as a:

\n

Field Service Engineer | Service Engineer | Commissioning Engineer | Filling Specialist | Technical Specialist

\n

\n

Experience gained with Tetra Pak, GEA, JBT/Stork, Krones, SIG/Combibloc, Liquibox, or comparable high-speed filling technology would be particularly attractive.

\n

Alongside your filling expertise, we're looking for strong capability across mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, PLC and automation diagnostics, preventive and corrective maintenance, installation and commissioning, and equipment optimization.

\n

\n

Experience within food, beverage, dairy, liquid processing, or aseptic filling environments would be particularly relevant. The formal specification specifically values aseptic processing and packaging experience alongside in-depth technical knowledge of major filling technologies.

\n

\n

Most importantly, you need to be someone who can own a technical problem, diagnose it, and find the solution rather than requiring a large support structure around you.

\n

\n

Compensation

\n

Compensation is deliberately flexible because technical expertise is the priority.

\n

For the right individual, we anticipate a base salary around $150,000, potentially higher depending on experience, plus a 12% bonus opportunity and comprehensive company benefits. The formal position specification confirms the 12% bonus opportunity.

\n

\n

Interested?

\n

If you've spent years becoming an expert on high-speed filling equipment and are wondering what the next step beyond the traditional OEM field-service career might look like, we'd like to hear from you.

\n

\n

This is an opportunity to bring your OEM expertise into a major US food and beverage manufacturer, become a trusted technical SME, keep working with sophisticated high-speed equipment, and — depending on where you choose to live — potentially reduce your travel considerably without stepping away from the technical work you enjoy.
