Pay Rate: $29.00 – $33.00 per hour ($60,320 – $68,640 annually, based on 40 hours/week)

About the Role
Quest International is seeking Field Service Engineer II professionals to join our Field Service Department. In this role, you will provide installation, preventive maintenance, and corrective repair services on advanced A/V equipment in medical environments.
Because this role supports hospital operating rooms, work hours are often determined by OR availability. While no weekend work is required, candidates must be prepared for weekday overtime and occasional evening hours as needed.
Candidates may reside in New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, or Kentucky, though New York is due to client demand.
Key Responsibilities

Perform product installation, preventive maintenance, and repairs on medical A/V equipment.

Provide multi-step troubleshooting support on assigned service calls.

Offer phone support to other Field Service Engineers (FSEs) or customers.

Collaborate with operating room staff to schedule service availability; flexibility for non-standard weekday hours required.

Respond to urgent service calls outside of standard business hours when needed.

Travel frequently to client sites across assigned regions (up to 80% travel required).

Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Accurately complete service reports and expense documentation.
Required Technical Skills & Competencies
-
Strong understanding of cable media (Coax, HDMI, USB, Cat-6, etc.)

Ability to troubleshoot to the FRU (Field Replaceable Unit) level

Experience servicing electro-mechanical and medical devices

Skilled in using tools such as vacuum/pressure meters, frequency counters, and digital multimeters

Ability to mount A/V equipment (speakers, monitors)

Physical capability to bend, stoop, crawl, and lift up to 50 lbs (assisted or unassisted)
Secondary Requirements

Must be able to travel extensively (up to 80% of the time, typically home on weeknights).

Experience booking and managing own travel and expenses.

Valid driver’s license and ability to rent a car.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
Mandatory Testing Requirements
All candidates must successfully complete:

Technical Skills Test (IT-based): Troubleshooting, cable media knowledge, and A/V system competency.

Physical Fitness Test: Demonstrating ability to lift 50 lbs., climb, and perform extended bending/crawling.
/ Bonus Skills

Prior A/V and CCTV experience.

CompTIA A+ certification.
-
Knowledge of control systems, audio consoles, power amplifiers, DSPs, video switchers, video scalers, PC interfaces, computer controls, and DVRs.
