HiFyve is hiring a Field Service Technician in the Injection Molding industry!
Pay: $40/hour + ~10 hours of overtime per week
Schedule: Monday–Friday travel with occasional work-from-home
Location: Kansas City, MO
Travel: Frequent travel required (primarily weekdays); per diem provided; quarterly travel bonus for >30% travel
About the Role:
We’re looking for a mechanically and electrically inclined Field Service Technician to join a leading team in the injection molding machinery industry. This is a hands-on role focused on troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing injection molding machines at customer sites across the Midwest. You’ll also provide remote support when not traveling and collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure best-in-class customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to customer sites to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain injection molding machines (e.g., Toyo, FCS)
- Assist customers remotely via phone and email when not traveling
- Interpret and communicate engineering plans, schematics, and specifications
- Collaborate with sales and parts teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Take initiative in identifying root causes and resolving technical issues
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience
- Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and machine prints
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic equipment
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting expertise
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, push, pull, and move in tight spaces
- Lift and carry up to 100 lbs
- Ability to climb on machinery up to 4 feet
- Strong visual acuity and /depth perception
- Frequent travel via air or vehicle; occasional weekend work may be required
