CNC FIELD REPAIR MAINTENANCE AND INSTALLATION SERVICE

The Field Service Technician will be part of the Service and Spare Parts Department and report directly to the National Service Manager. It is preferred that the candidate be located in the Chicago area.

Job responsibilities:

• Machine installation
• Troubleshooting service (mechanical, electrical)
• Warranty service
• Preventive maintenance service
• Operator and maintenance training
• Rebuilds
• Based on business need: assist, support and/or perform other job functions within the department or other work areas within scope, and ability.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The ideal candidate would possess a grinding maintenance/service background. However, we will consider a person with other CNC machine tool experience. To be successful in this position, the candidate should have the following:

• Formal education/training in troubleshooting, repair, and installation of CNC Machine Tool Products.
• Minimum 2 years work experience in the troubleshooting, installing, and repair of CNC Machine Tools Products. Formal CNC technical training will be accepted in lieu of work experience.
• Must have strong Mechanical, Electrical troubleshooting, and repair experience.
• Demonstrated application and commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain professional conduct when dealing with customers, peers, builder representatives, and suppliers.
• Ability to participate as a member of a team.
• Ability to use a PC and job-related software/programs for programming and documentation/record keeping.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• Siemens (and Fanuc) control experience is a plus.
• Availability to travel within and outside the US. The position is travel intensive and although most of the traveling will be done within the US, the technician might occasionally travel to Canada and Mexico. Additionally, several visits to our European headquarters are foreseen for training purposes.
• International experience: Considering we are an international company headquartered in Europe; the technician will work together with overseas technicians on some jobs.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and the ability to drive.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport.

SALARY PACKAGE / JOB OFFER:

This is a full-time non-exempt position with intensive travel requirements and is an hourly-based position. The technician will be offered the following salary package:

• Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
• Overtime: Overtime will be paid for work hours exceeding the 40-hour week at one and a half hourly rate based on 2080 hours a year. Training is excluded from overtime for both travel and training time.
• Health insurance: 100% Company covered health insurance plan.
• 401k: Company will contribute 6% of base salary to your plan.
