Job Summary


The Field Service Technician is a critical position responsible for providing expert diagnostics, repair, and planned maintenance across a broad range of material handling equipment at customer sites. This role requires extensive travel within assigned regions, supporting both planned and urgent customer needs — including coverage for Integrated Technician PTO, surges in demand, and specialized service requests. The Field Service Technician is trusted to solve complex technical challenges, deliver exceptional customer service, and ensure equipment reliability, uptime, and safety in diverse and fast-paced environments. Requirements:

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Travel extensively within assigned regions (and occasionally beyond) to perform diagnostics, repairs, and planned maintenance on a broad range of material handling equipment, including but not limited to forklifts, pallet jacks, and specialty warehouse equipment.
  • Provide advanced technical support and serve as the escalation point for complex repairs or chronic issues that require higher expertise.
  • Support Integrated Technicians by covering shifts during PTO, high-demand periods, or temporary absences, ensuring uninterrupted service for customers.
  • Respond to urgent service needs on short notice as required, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to customer uptime.
  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues or equipment failures and implement corrective actions to resolve and prevent future problems.
  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation related to repairs, parts usage, and customer communication.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by clearly communicating status updates, technical findings, and repair recommendations.
  • Act as a leader amongst your peers by mentoring and providing technical guidance to less-experienced Technicians at customer sites.
  • Uphold all safety procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Manage and track assigned parts inventory, tools, and equipment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and remain current with new equipment, technologies and service best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience servicing a variety of material handling equipment (multiple makes and models required)
  • Advanced diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair skills for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new equipment, technologies, and customer environments
  • High degree of flexibility for travel; expect 75–90% travel, with some short-notice assignments
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training or relevant certifications strongly
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
  • Ability to obtain required clearances or passes for customer sites, if necessary
