Job Title: Field Service Technician

Department: Service

Reports To: Customer Service Manager

Summary

Support the manufacturing and service team to perform FAT on new systems and provide onsite service when required.

Qualifications

  • Electrical and compressor hands-on knowledge
  • Aptitude to read and understand GENERON systems software
  • Ability to travel Domestic and International

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - TEST

  • Provide test support and perform FAT of systems in GENERON shop

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - START UP/ COMMISSIONING

  • Provide Startup and Commissioning assistance to customer on their GENERON N2 Systems

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - TROUBLE SHOOT EXISTING GENERON SYSTEMS

  • Assist customers with issues on their GENERON N2 system
  • Trouble Shoot via phone or email
  • Travel to customer location and troubleshoot system

Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Language

  • Excellent command of the English language and the ability to read, interpret and analyze documents
  • Ability to write instructions, procedures, and written correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers and other employees of the organization

Interpersonal Skills

  • Demonstrate effective customer service skills, through listening, communicating, and demonstration
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate and work effectively with upper and lower level skilled positions
  • Demonstrate the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following on a regular basis:

  • Sit, squat, bend over, stand, walk
  • Reach with hands or arms
  • Speak and hear adequately
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance and color vision
  • The ability to remain in stationary position for extended length of time
  • The ability to move freely and suddenly is required

While performing this job, the employee is required to perform the following on an occasional basis:

  • No heavy lifting is required, however ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs. may be occasionally necessary (computer, printer, tools, parts, binders, etc.)
  • Good manual dexterity is required to operate equipment (keyboards, calculators, small tools, etc.)
  • Climb ladders and steps safely

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics of this job include both indoor and outdoor presence

  • Office and desk operations, in a business environment, including conferences with customers, vendors, and other employees of the organization
  • Inspection, examination, and repair of equipment in local or remote locations, on-shore and off-shore
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be exposed to moderate noise levels
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee could experience temperature swings of several degrees, from air-conditioning, to hot/ humid non-air conditioning

Must be able successfully complete drug screen, physical and extensive background check.
