General Summary: Assist in augmenting and supporting the day-to-day logistics for coordinating the commissioning, innovation and servicing of Alkar product lines. Direct, assist, and conduct on-site operational and technical evaluation and training.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Coordinates and supports daily logistics of various service technicians and field service-related operations and activities including service visits, start-ups, and field renovations.
- Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or detailed plans to support technical, project and engineering team members in the testing, innovation and troubleshooting of Alkar equipment.
- Functions as liaison between Service and other departments to facilitate smooth and fluid collaboration to ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and safety protocols.
- Assists in innovation of existing and new product lines.
- Conducts on-site customer training including proper operational and equipment maintenance procedures of equipment.
- Acquires, assembles, and prepares data and reports for analysis of product failure trends and service issues.
- Support the promotion of Service contracts on new and existing ALKAR equipment.
- Performs additional assignments as requested by Director of Field Services.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Minimum two-year associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electro-mechanical Technology or related technical training.
- Understanding of Project Management skills and deliverables.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving, verbal and written communication skills along with interpersonal skills to work effectively with peers and customers.
- Proficient in working in System Applications programs such as SAP, MAPICS, SM, SMARTSHEET, etc.
- Controls literate; preferably Allen Bradley. Needs to understand basic PLC troubleshooting skills.
- Prefer minimum of three to four years trouble-shooting and supervisory experience in manufacturing equipment including commissioning and field service experience.
- Previous experience with air balance, temperature control or commissioning of gas, steam, thermal oil and microwave heated equipment .
- Knowledge of meat process testing and sampling but not required.
Areas Supervised:
- Various field service teams or projects as required and directed by Director of Field Services.
Scope Data (budget accountability, operating revenues, organizational unit responsibility, number of employees supervised, other pertinent numeric data):
- Interacts directly with customers.
- Assists with organization of service and support to all Alkar product lines.
- Carries out assignments that vary from semi-routine to complex in nature with minimal immediate supervision.
- Works with accounting to track data, costs and labor hours associated with particular projects.
- Assist in generating Service estimates and budgetary estimates for Projects.
Description of physical working environment:
- Over shoulder work - limited to 1-10% of work activity.
- Office – sitting at computer and using phone more frequently.
- Production areas - extended standing required.
- Production areas - Climbing, ladders, stairs, catwalks and equipment etc. will be required.
- Field sites – Walking on plant rooftops to a rough construction site may be required. May be required to work around ammonia lines in production and cooler areas.
Domestic and International travel required.
- Approximately 35%.
- Must possess a clean driving record.
- Be able to obtain a PASSPORT and VISA status for international and domestic travel.
- Not have had a VISA or PASSPORT declined or revoked in any country.
Requirements:
