Bedfordshire ?? £45,000 - £55,000 + Overtime (Depending on Experience)A leading manufacturer of automated machinery is seeking a Service Engineer to join its growing technical team due to continued expansion and an increasing demand for customised machinery solutions.This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys a mix of site-based installations, fault finding, commissioning, and customer technical support both in the UK and internationally.The RoleAs a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, and support of specialist production machinery . The role involves a mixture of on-site customer visits, remote support, and collaboration with internal engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.You will also play a key role in ensuring machines perform reliably while supporting customers with troubleshooting, upgrades, and technical guidance.Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation and commissioning of new machinery at customer sitesService, maintenance, and breakdown response for installed equipmentFault finding on electrical, mechanical, and control systemsSoftware debugging and commissioning for production line integrationsProviding remote diagnostics and technical support for customersLogging service requests and maintaining support documentationLiaising with internal teams regarding service, spares, and technical solutionsSupporting customers via telephone and email with technical issuesAssisting with product improvements by providing feedback from field experienceCompleting documentation including test plans and validation recordsWorking HoursMonday - Thursday: 08:00 - 17:00Friday: 08:00 - 13:00Overtime available when travelling to/from customer sites.RequirementsEssentialMechanical and/or Electrical Engineering backgroundRecognised qualification in Electrical, Electronic or Control Engineering (HNC / BTEC or similar)Strong fault-finding ability on machinery and automation equipmentExperience working with industrial machineryAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamStrong communication and customer service skillsValid passport and willingness to travel internationallyDesirableElectrical certification for working with 3-phase installations5+ years experience servicing and fault-finding machineryExperience with Siemens or Allen Bradley programmingExperience installing or commissioning production/packaging machineryExperience completing validation documentation for production linesDegree in Electrical Engineering or working towards chartered statusThe CandidateThe successful candidate will be a proactive and solutions-focused engineer who enjoys problem solving and delivering excellent technical support to customers.You will be comfortable working on complex machinery, managing site visits, and collaborating with engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.TPBN1_UKTJ
