The Opportunity
A growing and established UK engineering service provider is seeking a Service Engineer to join their field-based team supporting a wide customer base across industrial, commercial, logistics, and manufacturing environments. This is a key role within the organisation, providing a mix of installation, maintenance, and responsive repair work on a broad range of industrial weighing systems.
This position would suit a hands-on engineer with strong electro-mechanical skills, a passion for problem-solving, and the ability to deliver an excellent customer experience while working independently in the field.
Role Responsibilities:
* Completing planned preventative maintenance, calibration, and service schedules
* Responding to emergency breakdowns and diagnosing faults on-site
* Repairing weighing equipment and associated electro-mechanical components
* Installing new equipment and supporting commissioning and customer handover
* Providing professional customer support and technical guidance when required
* Maintaining accurate service reports, job sheets, and compliance documentation
* Managing vehicle stock effectively and ensuring parts and tools are kept to required standards
* Working in line with all health, safety, and industry regulations
Skills & Experience Required:
* Experience working with industrial weighing systems or similar electro-mechanical equipment
* Strong diagnostic and technical problem-solving skills
* Previous field service, maintenance, or technical support experience
* Confident working independently and managing workload
* Good communication and customer-facing skills
* Full UK driving licence is essential
Desirable (but not essential):
* Experience with calibration, industrial automation, process control, or instrumentation
* Exposure to service environments within logistics, manufacturing, or industrial sites
