Position Summary:

The Field Service Engineer plays a key role in ensuring the successful delivery and performance of JCS systems at customer sites. This position provides hands-on support to both our internal project teams and our customers by leading the startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting of JCS process equipment.

To succeed in this role, the engineer must combine strong technical knowledge of process applications with a practical understanding of system functionality, ensuring that equipment is installed, optimized, and performing to JCS’s high standards. The role also requires clear communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to partner effectively with customers and colleagues in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain a continuous positive relationship with customers, including support and follow-up on customers' concerns and problems
  • Perform troubleshooting and fault-finding services on site, online, and by phone
  • Perform and execute Factory Acceptance Testing
  • Perform site management, process engineering, mechanical engineering, controls and automation engineering for start-up and commissioning of JCS engineered systems
  • Execute site acceptance testing – partner with customer, manage and/or support startup team for this function
  • Document and maintain written records of services performed on behalf of JCS
  • Take an active role in project support in the following areas:
    1. Project site management, installation, start-up and commissioning support
    2. Building electrical panels, checkout and testing assistance
    3. Process systems installation, calibration, testing and checkout
    4. Control systems Installation, calibration, testing and checkout
  • Promote and maintain good business relationships with our customers and vendors

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in service-related functions, in Food and Beverage or related industry
  • Strong working knowledge of software (preferably with PLC programming) and hardware applications, including instrumentation testing and calibration equipment.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with the repair and service of process-related machines and products.
  • Prior technical, mechanical, and electrical training. Must be able to read and work with electrical schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and other related drawings.
  • A valid driver’s license and related documents to travel by car or air within the US and Canada
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including overnight, with travel up to 75% of the time. Travel may consist of 1 day to multiple weeks at a given time.
  • Prior exposure to clients and vendors in food and beverage, or pharmaceutical industry, strongly .

Physical Qualifications:

  • Sit, climb, stand, bend, kneel, walk, squat, bend, reach and work in hot or cold temperatures.
  • Light physical effort with frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to see and handle small parts and wires of different colors.
