Field Service Engineer – Electrical & Mechanical\n\nIdeal Living Locations: Milton Keynes, Oxford, Reading, Swindon or nearby areas (for easy access to all client sites)\nSalary & Package: £35,000 – £39,000 + company vehicle + 23 days holiday (plus bank holidays) + pension + overtime + travel time paid\nHours: 40 hours/week, flexible between 8am–6pm depending on travel and site schedules\n\nJoin a Growing Leader in Controlled Environment Facilities\n\nWe’re working with a fast-growing engineering specialist known for its cutting-edge work in controlled environment solutions. From high-spec laboratories to bespoke research facilities, this company delivers advanced design, build, and maintenance services for clients across the UK in sectors including life sciences, pharma, healthcare, and clean manufacturing.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Field Engineer with a mix of electrical and mechanical experience to join a supportive and technically sharp team. You’ll be travelling between several client sites including Birmingham, Oxford, Maidstone, London, Egham, and Swansea, carrying out routine, planned maintenance on complex but clean and well-managed systems — not installations or reactive callouts.\n\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\n\n * Travel to client sites in a company-provided vehicle to carry out scheduled maintenance.\n\n * Perform routine electrical testing (not installations), basic inspections, and diagnostics.\n\n * Check alarms and performance data via BMS systems (Trend experience is a bonus, not essential).\n\n * Inspect and monitor pumps, check flow rates, and assess mechanical performance.\n\n * Replace and clean ventilation filters, support environmental controls, and ensure compliance with site standards.\n\n * Document maintenance activity clearly and report findings to the Maintenance Manager.\n\n * Occasionally assist in commissioning new systems or upgrades as part of a wider engineering team.\n\nWhat You’ll Get\n\n * A role with autonomy, trust, and variety – you won’t be stuck on one site or one routine.\n\n * Full training and development on company systems and client-specific setups.\n\n * Long-term opportunity to develop into senior roles or specialise in areas like commissioning, compliance, or BMS integration.\n\n * A close-knit team culture with support from experienced engineers and hands-on leadership.\n\n * Clean, well-maintained environments with consistent schedules and minimal disruption work.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n\n * Electrical experience\n\n * Some experience with mechanical systems (pipework, pumps, filters, etc.).\n\n * Ability to work independently, manage your schedule, and maintain accurate records.\n\n * A flexible, proactive approach to work and a willingness to travel as part of your routine.\n\n * Basic IT skills; any familiarity with Trend BMS or similar systems is useful but not essential.\n\nThis is an excellent role for someone who enjoys variety, values technical quality, and wants to build a stable career in a future-focused engineering sector.\n\nReady to take the next step?
