Job Title: Field Service Engineer (Plant Mechanic - Level 3)

Reports To: Service Manager / Depot Foreman

Business Area: Field Service

Salary: £35,500

Location: Bristol



Job Purpose



To deliver expert on-site maintenance and repair services for customers across the UK, working on a broad range of construction plant, tools, and equipment. This role involves supporting customer operations by providing efficient and reliable field-based solutions.



Key Responsibilities



Promote and adhere to all company Health & Safety policies and procedures at all times.

Travel to customer sites to carry out servicing, maintenance, and repair of plant machinery and equipment.

Conduct routine, reactive, and preventative maintenance tasks with precision and efficiency.

Diagnose and resolve faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Continuously develop technical knowledge to stay current with equipment and industry standards.

Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring a professional and courteous approach on every job.

Maintain detailed and accurate records of work completed.

Ensure a clean, professional appearance and take responsibility for the care of company-issued equipment and service vehicle.

Hold and maintain a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications & Experience Required



Level 3 qualification in Construction Plant Maintenance or a related vocational discipline (or equivalent experience).

Strong technical knowledge of construction plant, tools, and equipment.

Experience diagnosing and repairing plant machinery in a field-based role.

Certification in the following areas ( but not essential):

Manual Handling

Working at Height

CSCS or equivalent skills accreditation

Forklift Operation

Telehandler Operation

Safe Lifting Techniques

First Aid

Banksman Duties
