Service Commissioning Engineer (Senior Level)
Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Service Commissioning Engineer to join our growing team. In this hands-on and customer-facing role, you’ll be responsible for servicing, commissioning, and maintaining gas detection systems across multiple sites. You’ll also act as a technical lead and mentor, supporting other engineers and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
Commissioning & Servicing
- Commission, service, and maintain gas detection equipment and related systems.
- Conduct test procedures and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
- Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and carry out effective repairs.
- Replace sensors, control panels, and other components when required.
- Interpret and work from electrical schematics.
- Maintain safe working practices at all times.
Customer Relations
- Provide technical support and training to clients and site engineers.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers.
- Escalate complex technical or customer issues when needed.
- Deliver demonstrations and ensure customers fully understand system operation.
Team & Leadership Support
- Act as the senior point of contact for other engineers, offering guidance and technical expertise.
- Support and mentor junior engineers, including training and coaching.
- Provide cover for colleagues and contribute to the wider team’s success.
Reporting & Administration
- Complete accurate commissioning and servicing reports.
- Record site data, attach photographs, and update CRM systems.
- Ensure all documentation meets company standards and deadlines.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay up to date with the latest company products, technologies, and policies.
- Actively contribute to process improvement and service quality.
- Support company objectives and promote our mission and values.
About You
Skills & Experience:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven experience with commissioning and servicing gas detection or similar equipment.
- Confident in using testing tools (e.g. multimeters, test gases).
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documents.
- Good IT skills (Microsoft Office, CRM systems).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and record-keeping.
