Field Power Generator Technician - Greater Portage Indiana Area

We are actively seeking experienced Field Power Generator Technicians to join our team for the Portage Indiana region. This position involves servicing, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of power equipment including diesel and natural gas generators, transfer switches, and related systems in the field.

Responsibilities:

• Perform on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial generator systems (5kW – 2000kW).

• Service both diesel and natural gas units, including load bank testing, oil/filter changes, and electrical troubleshooting.

• Accurately document service work using company-issued tools or systems.

• Respond to emergency service calls as needed (on-call rotation may apply).

• Maintain strong customer relationships through clear communication and professionalism.

• Adhere to all safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience working on power generators (commercial or industrial).

• Strong understanding of diesel/gas engines, electrical systems, transfer switches, and controls.

• Ability to read wiring schematics and troubleshoot electrical faults.

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and a self-starter attitude.

• EGSA Certification is a plus (but not required).

• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in various outdoor conditions.
