Job Description: Field Service and Installation Technician (Pennsylvania Region)

Full time position with benefits after 90 days

Position Overview:

They are seeking a dedicated Field Service and Installation Technician to serve the State of Pennsylvania and surrounding areas. This role involves the installation, programming, maintenance, and repair of specialized security cameras, computer systems, and related wiring and equipment for law enforcement and homeland security clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical aptitude, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently while traveling. This position requires significant travel, typically 3-4 days per week, with occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively contact customers to review installation requirements and schedules.
  • Perform on-site installation of systems, including equipment setup, camera calibration and alignment, and software deployment on customer computers and servers.
  • Collaborate with sales, project managers, and customers to ensure seamless installation and service experiences.
  • Modify existing hardware and electrical systems (110v and 12v) to accommodate camera equipment.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network and software settings on computers (IP addressing, subnet, gateway, Event Viewer).
  • Provide comprehensive customer training on system deployment and usage.
  • Deliver phone-based and on-site customer support to resolve technical issues.
  • Document installation and service activities in a CRM/ticketing system.
  • Conduct and document root cause analysis of customer problems to drive product and support improvements.
  • Communicate technical process changes to ensure compliance and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a local customer advocate in business unit decisions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to safely climb and work from a ladder with equipment up to 35lbs.
  • Ability to safely operate a bucket truck (training provided).
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting PC software and hardware.
  • Experience with household and automobile electrical systems (110v, 12v, low voltage).
  • Proficiency with Windows 10/11, Embedded, and Microsoft Server operating systems.
  • Basic TCP/IP and networking knowledge (ping, traceroute, etc.).
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivated with strong leadership and teamwork qualities.
  • Excellent time management skills.

Requirements:

  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the assigned region.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
