Job Title: Manager of Field Operations

Are you a seasoned leader in HVAC field operations or mechanical contracting? Our client—a well-established and growing mechanical contractor in the Dallas-Fort Worth area—is hiring a Manager of Field Operations to drive performance, coordination, and quality across a wide range of commercial mechanical construction projects.

This role is ideal for someone with expertise in commercial HVAC, piping systems, construction scheduling, and field crew supervision, who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manpower Planning & Labor Strategy
    • Develop and maintain optimized manpower schedules for multiple job sites.
    • Align workforce allocation with project timelines and budgets.
    • Monitor labor productivity and labor cost trends across all field operations.
    • Implement proactive strategies to improve labor efficiency.
  • Supervision of Superintendents & Field Teams
    • Provide hands-on leadership and mentorship to field superintendents and foremen.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and encourage continuous development.
    • Ensure adherence to project specifications, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Construction Site Coordination
    • Collaborate closely with project managers, construction crews, and subcontractors.
    • Serve as a liaison between the field and office, ensuring alignment on project goals.
    • Anticipate and resolve field issues quickly to avoid delays or cost overruns.
  • Resource & Tool Management
    • Oversee allocation and usage of tools and equipment across all job sites.
    • Ensure tools are maintained, compliant, and available when needed.
    • Enforce safety standards and OSHA compliance procedures at every site.
  • Vendor & Subcontractor Oversight
    • Manage relationships with HVAC equipment suppliers and subcontracting partners.
    • Evaluate subcontractor performance and contract compliance.
    • Ensure timely delivery of materials and high-quality installation work.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in field operations management within the mechanical contracting or commercial HVAC industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, mentor, and motivate diverse field teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficient in construction project management software and workforce planning tools.
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems, including HVAC installations, sheet metal, and piping systems.
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to lead under pressure in dynamic construction environments.
