We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Field Fabrication Manager to oversee and lead our field fabrication crews.
Essential Job Functions:
- Supervise and lead Field Millwrights and Welders performing mechanical installation, structural fabrication, plant maintenance, and equipment repairs in aggregate environments.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate day-to-day field activities to meet project deadlines and minimize customer downtime.
- Review and interpret blueprints, layout drawings, and customer specifications for conveyor systems, crushers, hoppers, screens, and support structures.
- Ensure quality workmanship and compliance with LJ Inc.'s standards as well as customer expectations.
- Conduct on-site inspections to monitor safety compliance, work progress, and adherence to scope.
- Assist crews with troubleshooting mechanical failures and provide hands-on support when needed.
- Manage field equipment, tools, welding machines, rigging gear, and fleet vehicles assigned to field work.
- Act as the main field point-of-contact between customers and internal LJ leadership, providing project updates and addressing site challenges.
- Enforce strict adherence to all company and OSHA safety policies, especially in high-risk aggregate job sites.
- Provide training and mentorship to help develop crew members' fabrication, welding, and mechanical installation skills.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy industrial fabrication, field welding, or millwright work, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong working knowledge of aggregate processing equipment (conveyors, crushers, screens, hoppers, etc.).
- Proficient in blueprint reading, structural layout, and mechanical installation practices.
- Proven track record of leading and motivating field crews in high-production, industrial environments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with rigging, heavy equipment installation, and plant shutdown work. Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
