Field-Based Engineer (Recycling/Waste Equipment)\n Location: Nationwide (Predominantly Midlands, some nationwide coverage required) \n Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 Basic DOE + rewarding overtime package (paid at 1.5x)\n\n Join a Leading Specialist in Waste Management! Due to substantial growth, they are looking for an experienced Field-Based Engineer to join the team - must have Baler & Compactor experience.\n\n What’s on Offer:\n£40,000 – £45,000 DOE + overtime paid at 1.5x\nCompany vehicle (van)\nMobile phone, uniform & PPE provided\nPower tools supplied\nPaid door-to-door travel\nCompany pension scheme\n28 days holiday (including bank holidays) + loyalty holiday scheme (up to 25 days)\nImmediate start availableKey Responsibilities:\nInstallation, commissioning, and operator training on balers and compactors\nFault diagnosis, servicing, and repairs on waste machinery both on-site and at HQ\nMaintenance of electrical and hydraulic systems\nMachine refurbishment to high standards\nSlinging, lifting, and safe handling of heavy equipment\nReading and interpreting engineering drawings\nPreparing accurate digital service reports\nWorking closely with customers on-site and collaborating with internal teamsCandidate Requirements:\nMinimum 5 years’ experience with balers, compactors, or similar waste machinery\nStrong knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems\nWelding skills (essential)\nFabrication experience (desirable)\nFull UK Driving Licence (clean)\nForklift Truck Licence ( – training can be provided)\nConfident communicator with strong customer service skills\nAble to work independently and as part of a team\nFlexible for occasional Saturday work (paid overtime) and possible overnight stays (subsistence provided)\nIf you're looking for a new role with a strong team, apply now or get in touch for more details.
