Summary:
The Field Engineer will assist the Superintendent team with day-to-day tasks related to managing site activities and assisting with special projects. This position reports to the Superintendent or Superintendent to which they are assigned and has no direct reports. This positions work may also be directed by Assistant Superintendents, Senior Project Managers, Project Managers or Assistant Project Managers.
Essential Functions:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist in developing the contractors Requests for Information (RFI), submittals, and the responses to these items.
Assist with project layout, calculations, and checking of work to confirm work is in conformance with plans and specifications.
Lead work crews on specific construction tasks.
Assist in implementation and monitoring of safety plans.
Track change order production.
Assisting Superintendents with safety, jobsite cleanliness, etc., as requested.
Performing timely completion of project close out activities.
Operation of light equipment.
Miscellaneous carpentry tasks performed.
Education Qualifications:
Sophomore, Junior or Senior working towards BS in Construction Management or related field.
Work Environment:
This position will work in a jobsite environment with possible main office visits in Covington.
