Field Engineer

We are seeking a Field Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) engineering team. This role serves as the on-site representative during the construction administration phase, ensuring that projects are built to design specifications and align with our quality and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct field inspections and prepare timely, detailed reports.

Collaborate with project leads to ensure all work meets design drawings and specifications.

Maintain a master inspection schedule in coordination with architects and contractors.

Serve as a liaison between clients, contractors, and internal engineering teams during the construction process.

Review construction documents, including specifications, shop drawings, and addendums.

Provide technical support to project teams and ensure code compliance.

Participate in professional development and training programs.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Field Services or project leadership.
Required Skills & Knowledge

Strong leadership abilities with exceptional attention to detail.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Understanding of building codes and construction practices.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Science, or related field.
- EIT or PE License

Prior experience in MEP construction or consulting, particularly in educational facility projects.

Experience in field project management within an MEP consulting environment.

Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and specifications.

Working knowledge of:

Electrical Systems: power distribution, lighting, data networks, telecommunications, fire alarms, security, and access control.

Mechanical Systems: HVAC, temperature controls, and other standard mechanical systems.

Plumbing Systems: domestic water, hot water, storm water, sanitary waste and vent, fire sprinkler, compressed air, gas distribution, and fuel gas systems.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Frequent travel to job sites, client meetings, and other office locations.

Ability to stand, walk, climb, crouch, and kneel for extended periods.

Capability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, dirt, dust, and exposure to construction materials.
