Field Engineer
Reports to: Field Engineer Manager, Concrete Field Operations and/or Job Superintendent
FLSA Status: Exempt
Hours: 40-50 hours per week or as directed by the Job Superintendent, Monday-Friday with some Saturdays as needed
Job Location: 3500 Alum Creek Drive, Columbus, OH 43207, or various job sites with no remote work capabilities.
General Overview: Works under the direct supervision of Senior Field Engineers, Field Engineer Manager, Superintendents, and Foremen to provide the crews with line and grade. Represents the company professionally to third-party providers, employees, and community organizations. This person should consistently demonstrate Integrity, Gratitude, Excellence, and Leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Provides line and grade services on various job sites as directed by the Superintendent and/or Field Operations
- Ensures grade, benchmarks, and job layouts align with project plans
- Performs work per the most up-to-date CAD/BIM model and contract documents
- Assists the Project Team with the planning of work to keep layout ahead of crews
- May attend on-site meetings as necessary
- May identify errors, submit requests for information (RFIs), and communicate deficiencies in contract documents to supervision as necessary
- Communicates professionally with supervision, crews, and customers
- Serves as a key point of contact for questions regarding specs, drawings, and scope of work
- Ensures verified control points and elevations are implemented with responsibility for independently verifying control points and benchmarks
- Knows specs, drawings, and scope of work
- Maintains up-to-date As-Builts throughout the project
- Identifies and utilizes appropriate equipment to complete tasks
- Responsible for securing assigned company equipment
- Responsible for general equipment care and coordinating repairs and routine calibration as needed
- Records daily time in appropriate software
- Records accurate production notes with associated cost codes in appropriate software
- Knows and adheres to all company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Strong practical mathematics skills (fractions, percentages, ratios, geometry)
- Proficiency in using technology such as iPads, HeavyJob, PlanGrid, etc.
- Must successfully pass a drug screening
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that satisfies the companys insurance eligibility requirements.
Certifications:
- OSHA 30- Hour
- First Aid CPR
