We are hiring for one of the following positions:

THE POSITION:

Senior Engineer – Under general direction of the District Engineer, the Senior Engineer will perform complicated professional engineering work related to the wastewater treatment plant and collection system. This includes designing and management of capital projects, participation in planning capital budgets, and serving as the District Engineer during his absence.

Associate Engineer - Under direction of the District Engineer, plans, organizes, and supervises capital improvement projects and complicated professional engineering work related to the wastewater treatment plant and sewer collection system.

Field Engineer – Under direction of the District Engineer, performs engineering work related to design, investigation, and construction of wastewater-related projects; inspects construction projects and may act as project manager for assigned projects.

Some examples of duties include: coordinate capital improvement projects, including design, construction, and inspections; provide technical input on system modifications for lift stations, sewer mains, and the wastewater treatment plant; prepare progress payments, change orders, and reports; design and prepare plans and specifications and cost estimates for projects on lift stations, sewer mains, and wastewater treatment plant; interpret and enforce construction plans and specifications; other related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, LICENSES: Any combination of education and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and abilities, is qualifying.

Senior/Associate Engineer – Five years of experience in civil or sanitary engineering (experience with management of wastewater treatment plant and/or sewer collection system desirable); and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in civil engineering, sanitary engineering, or related field; and a valid California driver’s license; and possession of a Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration.

Field Engineer – Three years increasingly responsible experience, two of which under the supervision of a registered Professional Engineer or General Engineering Contractor, involving engineering, construction of industrial facilities, construction planning, and/or construction inspection for a private contractor, municipal agency, or engineering consultant involved in significant municipal engineering; and a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field (12 years of field experience in construction or engineering may be substituted for the required degree); and a valid California driver’s license.
