Position Summary

The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general building maintenance and repair work to ensure the facility remains safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role supports daily operations by troubleshooting and repairing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and other facility-related issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair of facility systems, including:
    • Lighting fixtures and bulbs
    • Electrical outlets and switches
    • Plumbing systems, pipes, faucets, sinks, and toilets
    • HVAC equipment and air conditioning systems
    • Doors, locks, windows, and office furniture
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from employees and departments.
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings, offices, production areas, break rooms, and restrooms.
  • Troubleshoot facility issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers when necessary.
  • Perform basic carpentry, painting, and general handyman tasks.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, inspection records, and repair reports.
  • Support facility improvement and renovation projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Assist with emergency repairs and after-hours facility support when needed.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical school certification or maintenance-related training .
  • Minimum 2 years of facility maintenance, building maintenance, or handyman experience.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Electrical systems
    • Plumbing systems
    • HVAC systems
    • General building maintenance
  • Ability to use common hand and power tools safely.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work, including climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
  • Basic computer skills for work order tracking and reporting.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
