Job Title: Facilities Technician (2nd Shift)
2nd shift Hours (2:00pm - 10:30pm) Monday through Friday, plus one weekend a month
General Summary: Under general supervision accomplishes assigned goals in maintenance of facilities equipment; typically includes chilled water systems, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, construction, landscaping, boilers, and other associated facilities equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs scheduled/unscheduled maintenance required on facilities equipment.
- Troubleshoots all electro-mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and some refrigeration systems experience.
- Takes initiative to perform root-cause problem solving; identifies and resolves chronic and acute problems.
- Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains facility equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operational manuals and manufacturing specifications for HVAC, boilers, cooling towers, air compressors, and dryers.
- Repairs and maintains equipment using electrical, control voltage, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulics and controls.
- Reads blueprints and has mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of shop equipment and measurement instrumentation.
- Uses working knowledge of building controls to assist in maintaining control of temperature and humidity in buildings. Uses building controls to assist in troubleshooting facilities equipment.
- Trains, supports, and shares knowledge with other technicians; may check the work of others.
- May act as a team leader for small projects.
- Some Construction Trades experience .
Abilities:
Excellent communications skills. Knowledge of high and low voltage required. Knowledge of above listed skills required. Must be flexible willing to learn new skills and be able to work any shift.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma/GED required and some related certification or 60 credit hours towards a technical degree and/or* Minimum 5 years related experience or combination of formal education and experience of which 3 years hands on experience is required and demonstrated proficiency.
Universal CFC License .
Physical Requirements:
Must have hand dexterity at moderate speed with accuracy for half of each day. Requires steady, active effort and continuous walking. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. Must be able to work in all areas of the plant. Must be able and comfortable using ladders and elevated platforms as needed.
All candidates must pass a 10-panel substance abuse screening test that includes testing for THC.
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
