Job Description
The Facilities Maintenance Technician position is located in Olive Branch, MS, and is responsible for ensuring all facets of building maintenance are managed effectively through preventative and immediate maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and perform minor repairs, maintenance, and improvements.
- Perform plumbing, welding, carpentry, sheetrock, drywall, mudding, painting, and general lighting upkeep.
- Read, interpret, and implement work orders.
- Use a CMMS (work order) system effectively.
- Communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and via email.
- Maintain a safety-minded approach in all work performed.
- Problem solve and troubleshoot maintenance issues using available resources.
- Accurately track and store inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment.
- Support continuous improvement within all departments.
- Assess and resolve a wide array of on-site maintenance issues.
- Maintain all racks and guard railing.
- Have a basic understanding of pneumatic systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks using tools and equipment.
- Assist Conveyor Maintenance Technicians in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment.
- Perform battery changes and preventive maintenance on forklift batteries.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma required for permanent position.
- Willingness to become forklift certified.
- Mechanical inclination with the ability to fix basic repairs.
- Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Comfortable working at heights using boom lifts and scissor lifts.
- Physical ability to continuously walk, bend, lift, stand, and climb stairs.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 65 lbs.
Work Environment
This position requires working Wednesday to Saturday nights, with shifts from 11 pm to 5 am on Wednesday, and 5 pm to 5 am on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The job is based in a very clean distribution facility with a large area requiring extensive walking. Maintenance staff have access to motorized vehicles for transporting tools and gear. Candidates must be comfortable with heights up to 30 feet and will work in both temperature-controlled production areas and non-temperature-controlled warehouse areas.
