Tech I - Grade 10: $21.51
Tech II - Grade 11: $22.74
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to kickstart your career in facilities maintenance? Tooele City is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Facilities Maintenance Technician I or II. In this position you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Conduct repairs and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
- Handle basic carpentry, painting, and general maintenance tasks.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Respond to maintenance requests and resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to achieve organizational goals.
Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in facilities maintenance or a related field is but not required.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor.
- Have a valid Utah driver's license (or obtain one within 1 month of hire), with at least 12 months of licensed driving experience and a driving record that meets City risk management and insurance standards.
To be considered at Level II, you must possess a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license. Other relevant certifications and trainings may be required, many of which can be obtained during employment.
