Job Summary: The Facilities Maintenance Technician ensures the efficient operation and upkeep of our building and facility systems by performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and responding to repair requests to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment.

Shift: 1st shift (6:00 am - 2:30 pm) with overtime as required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform general building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting tasks.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on systems and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with facility equipment and systems.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance service requests and building emergencies.
  • Monitor and maintain building safety systems including fire alarms, extinguishers, and emergency lighting.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
  • Set up and break down rooms or equipment for meetings, events, or special projects.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors as needed for specialized repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and local safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and storage rooms.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical certification .
  • 2+ years of experience in building maintenance or a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and technical documents.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with maintenance tracking systems (CMMS ).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (if applicable).

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, climbing, and working at heights.

Work Environment:

  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, or be on-call for emergency repairs.
  • Work involves exposure to potential hazards such as electrical systems, heights, or confined spaces.
  • Use of PPE (personal protective equipment) as required.
