Job Description:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all facilities, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure efficient and safe operations. This role involves managing a team of maintenance personnel, developing preventive maintenance schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance staff in the upkeep of equipment, irrigation systems, vehicles, and buildings.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues related to operations.
  • Oversee the maintenance of greenhouse structures, shade houses, and cold storage facilities.
  • Ensure proper functioning of irrigation systems, pumps, and water management infrastructure.
  • Maintain and repair machinery, including tractors, forklifts, and specialized horticultural equipment.
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with contractors for repairs and upgrades.
  • Monitor inventory of tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies, ensuring timely procurement.
  • Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures to comply with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Train staff on proper maintenance procedures, equipment use, and safety protocols.
  • Work closely with the Operations and Production teams to minimize disruptions to nursery workflows.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and records for compliance and operational efficiency.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training .
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in an agricultural, nursery, or horticultural setting.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and irrigation systems.
  • Experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and farm machinery.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to train and motivate a team.
  • Understanding of workplace safety and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
