Job Title: Facilities & Maintenance Engineer
Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Duration: 24 Months (Possible Extension/Conversion)
Location: Waterloo, IA 50704
Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage facilities and maintenance engineering projects.
- Support facility infrastructure, production equipment, and manufacturing processes.
- Lead multi-disciplinary facility improvement and maintenance projects.
- Provide engineering design for facility, grounds, and production systems.
- Troubleshoot facility infrastructure and production equipment issues.
- Coordinate contractors and skilled trades to complete projects.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and supplier activities.
- Review Hot Work Requests and Red Tag procedures.
- Support Emergency Notification Systems (ENS), FM Global, IT, and network-related projects.
- Perform life safety, building code, environmental, and ergonomic assessments.
- Support material handling equipment engineering and installation.
- Research and source materials, equipment, and maintenance services.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- Experience in Project Management.
- 5+ years coordinating contractors and skilled trades.
- 3+ years of experience with building infrastructure systems (mechanical, electrical, structural).
- 3+ years of manufacturing, maintenance, or operations engineering experience.
- Knowledge of engineering principles in manufacturing environments.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, or Maintenance Engineering.
- Knowledge of Emergency Notification Systems (ENS).
- Experience with facility infrastructure and production equipment projects.
- Background in material handling equipment applications and installation.
Work Environment:
- Shop floor environment with approximately 75% of time spent on the factory floor.
- Must wear metatarsal safety boots from Day 1.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Comfortable working around manufacturing equipment and production operations.
