Facilities Engineer in Leicester
Job Description
We are looking for a Facilities Engineer to join our team based on site in Leicester. The Facilities Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical / mechanical plant and equipment. You will play a key role in maintaining operational efficiency, reducing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nPerform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of mechanical / electrical equipment to SFG20 standards.
These will include HVAC systems, UPS Systems, RCD testing, PAT, Lighting, LEV’s and fume cupboards, Boilers and Air Compressors\n\t\nTroubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime.\n\t\nConduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safety.\n\t\nKeep detailed records of maintenance activities using a CMMS. \n\t\nAssist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.\n\t\nMaintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and inventory management for critical spares.\n\t\nResponsible for co-ordination of contractors including issue of Permit to Work.\n\t\nEnsure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.\n\t\nParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and efficiency.\n\t\nSupport black building testing and respond to alarms via the Trend BMS\n\nSkills and Experience\n\nPrevious experience within a similar role. \n\t\nStrong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems\n\t\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.\n\t\nExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\n\t\nStrong communication and teamwork abilities.\n\nSpecific Qualifications\n\nCity & Guilds/NVQ - Electrical Installation / Maintenance or equivalent\n\t\nCity & Guilds 2382 18th Edition IEE\n\t\nTime served apprenticeship or equivalent training\n\t\nA demonstrable knowledge of building services engineering\n\t\nTesting and Inspection certification = desirable\n\t\nKnowledge and experience of BMS, generator, control, lighting systems, and ACOPS L8.\n\t\nIPAF/PASMA Beneficial\n\nWhat we offer\n\nA competitive salary and benefits package appropriate to this position\n\t\nAn employer who values the ongoing wellbeing of its employees\n\t\nTraining & Development – Ongoing support for career progression\n\nWe are March……… the UKs leading provider of critical engineering services.
