Welder and Fabricator
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Welder Position(s): 2
Reports To: Manufacturing Supervisor Date Written: 09/09/25
Summary of Position: The function of the Welder to cut and join metals and other materials. Operation of the appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision is essential. This important job is critical as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure. A welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. A steady hand and great attention to detail is crucial. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential.
Job Description:
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
- Set up components for welding according to specifications
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
- Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
- Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
Competencies
- Proven experience as welder
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (MIG, TIG etc.)
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
- Proficient in English
- Thoroughness
- Interpersonal communication and team work skills
- Strong organizational skills / ability to work cross functionally
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Hands-on individual who is a clear thinker and quick learner

Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing environment as well as requires some professional office interaction. This role routinely uses manufacturing/production machines and tools. Requires periodic overtime and standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, as well as working in hot or cold temperatures with exposure to noise, dust, odors, etc.
Physical Demands
Production/manufacturing demands may include walking, squatting, heavy lifting, and subject to loud operating machines.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position requiring at least 40 hours/week. Hours in excess of 40/week may be required. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm.
Required Education and Experience
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Strong organizational, and interpersonal communication skills to conduct business in English are also required. Competency in fundamental mechanical functions of basic tool usage is not required but desirable. Must have valid drivers license.

Shift:
- 10 hour shift's (Monday - Thursday and Tuesday - Friday options)
- 8 hour shift (Monday - Friday)
- Day shift (6:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. for Mon-Fri or 6:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. for 10 hour shift's)
- Weekends as needed
