We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Shop Manager with a strong background in glazing to lead and oversee daily operations in our fabrication and installation shop. This role requires both leadership and technical expertise, ensuring high-quality workmanship, efficient workflows, and a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily shop operations, scheduling, and team supervision
- Lead, train, and support shop staff in glazing techniques and safety protocols
- Manage inventory, materials, and equipment maintenance
- Coordinate with project managers to meet production and installation deadlines
- Inspect completed work for quality control and adherence to specifications
- Enforce workplace safety procedures and OSHA compliance
- Assist with hands-on fabrication or glazing as needed
Requirements:
- Proven experience in glazing (residential or commercial)
- 3+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role
- Strong knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in glass/glazing work
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet
:
- OSHA certification or safety training
- Forklift or equipment operator certification
- Experience with glass cutting, tempering, or custom glass fabrication
- Employee will be required to join Union upon employment
