Peninsula Iron Works is a leading industrial repair and fabrication company serving the Northwest since 1917. We specialize in large equipment repair, custom fabrication, heavy machining, and mechanical rebuilds for a wide variety of industries including mining, aggregate, power , and construction.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Fitter/Welder to join our fabrication team. This position is responsible for accurately fitting and welding complex fabrications and assemblies based on blueprints and technical drawings. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy industrial welding and fabrication work and a commitment to safety, quality, and craftsmanship.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed, and the proper PPE is in place
  • Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and procedures
  • Use grinders, torches, saws and other fabrication tools to prepare parts for fit-up
  • Tack weld assemblies and measure to ensure dimensional accuracy
  • Final weld parts in all postures and positions.
  • Perform First Article Inspections.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with fit up as they occur


Qualifications

  • Must have knowledge in rigging and crane safety
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with Mig, Tig, and Oxy-Fuel torch
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
  • Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential
  • Must have a positive and professional attitude
  • Available to work weekends and overtime
  • Capable of standing for extended periods of time
  • Non-ferrous welding experience is a plus
