Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Fabrication Shop Fitter/Welder role in Portland, OR. Our client is a well-established industry leader known for innovation and a commitment to delivering the highest quality products. With a focus on continuous improvement, they pride themselves on maintaining excellence at every stage of their manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:

· Ensure all safety procedures are followed and proper PPE is in place.
· Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and procedures to build accurate assemblies.
· Use grinders, torches, saws, and other fabrication tools to prepare parts for fit-up.
· Tack weld assemblies and measure to ensure dimensional accuracy.
· Perform final welds in all postures and positions.
· Conduct First Article Inspections.
· Troubleshoot and resolve problems with fit-up as they occur.

Qualifications:

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience with MIG, TIG, and Oxy-Fuel torch welding in a heavy industrial environment.
· Knowledge of rigging and crane safety.
· Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
· Skilled in interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
· Ability to work independently while following directions closely.
· Positive and professional attitude.
· Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
