Job Description

Our client is a biotechnology/medical device company looking to hire a Fabrication Quality & Operations Manager for their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$130k - $140k Annually

Position Overview:
Our client is looking for a Fabrication Quality & Operations Manager to lead and enhance fabrication processes in a high-performing manufacturing setting. This role combines operational leadership with a strong focus on quality assurance, driving improvements across production, safety, and team development. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in fabrication and a strategic mindset for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities of the Fabrication Quality & Operations Manager:

  • Lead quality initiatives to ensure products meet internal and external standards.
  • Supervise and coach team members to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Oversee daily fabrication operations, including scheduling, staffing, and workflow optimization.
  • Interpret technical drawings and ensure accurate execution of fabrication tasks.
  • Monitor performance indicators and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues and refine processes.
  • Maintain equipment and workspaces in compliance with safety and 5S standards.
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures and best practices.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and process enhancements.
  • Manage labor and material budgets to meet operational targets.
  • Support new product development through process planning and quality reviews.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Address employee concerns and coordinate with HR on resolution strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO, and PPE requirements.
  • Approve timekeeping and manage attendance records.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Required Experience/Skills for the Fabrication Quality & Operations Manager:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fabrication or manufacturing.
  • At least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Expertise in metal or plastic fabrication, including welding, machining, or assembly.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.

Experience/Skills for the Fabrication Quality & Operations Manager:

  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience using data to drive operational decisions.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvement.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is .
