Position Title: FAA Certification / TSO Compliance Engineer
(6 MONTHS CONTRACT)
Position Summary:
Join a team developing and certifying advanced aerospace systems and products. We are seeking an experienced FAA Certification / TSO Compliance Engineer to support the development, certification, and regulatory approval of aerospace hardware and systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Technical Standard Orders (TSO), FAA certification processes, and compliance documentation within aerospace environments.
The selected candidate will work closely with Systems Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Compliance, and Program teams to ensure products meet all FAA requirements and certification standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support FAA certification activities for aerospace products and systems.
- Develop and execute certification plans for products requiring FAA approval.
- Support Technical Standard Order (TSO) authorization efforts and compliance activities.
- Interpret and apply FAA regulations and guidance documents.
- Coordinate with FAA representatives, Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs), and internal stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain certification documentation including:

- Certification Plans
- Compliance Checklists
- Test Procedures
- Test Reports
- Compliance Reports
- Support system verification and validation activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Work closely with engineering teams to identify and resolve certification-related issues.
- Support audits and regulatory reviews.
- Participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions related to certification findings.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and aerospace regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5+ years of aerospace industry experience.
- Experience supporting FAA certification programs.
- Strong understanding of Technical Standard Orders (TSO).
- Experience with FAA regulatory requirements and certification processes.
- Experience developing certification and compliance documentation.
- Strong understanding of system verification and validation processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and engineering documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Experience with FAA Part 23, Part 25, or related certification requirements.
- Experience working with DERs, ODA organizations, or FAA representatives.
- Knowledge of aerospace certification standards and guidance documents.
- Familiarity with:

- Experience with avionics, flight controls, navigation systems, or airborne electronic systems.
- Experience supporting military and commercial aerospace programs.
- FAA-related certifications or formal certification training .
