Job DescriptionJob Description

Craftsmen Contractors is hiring skilled Structural Welders for an industrial facility in Minden, LA. These are temp-to-permanent positions, and you will need to do a face-to-face interview. You will also need to pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screen. The work schedule shifts: (6 am - 4:30 pm, 6:30 am - 5 pm, or 7 am - 5:30 pm), and also work every other Saturday.

Pay is $22 - $30.80/hour, depending on experience and how you do on the weld test. No per diem is offered.

Weekly pay by direct deposit.

Job Duties:

• Weld steel structures, telecommunications shelters, skids, and any other product line for plant operations.
• Read blueprints for specifications.
• Weld all necessary components, including floors, walls, and roofs, for current operations as specified in blueprints.
• Weld all mechanical components as required.
• Perform all welding and fabrication tasks in the plant as specified by the supervisor.
• Use a grinder to smooth welds.

Job Requirements:

• Must have previous welding experience.
• Must be able to pass 1G and 3G x-rayed weld test - MIG with flux core wire
• High school Diploma or GED
• Basic math skills
• Problem Solving / Analytical ability
• Perform calculations
• Ability to communicate both written and oral
• Interpersonal and organizational skills
• Mechanical aptitude
• Good motor skills and hand-eye coordination for accuracy in welding.
• Read a tape measure
• The job requires clarity of vision, with or without corrective lenses, for inspection and repair.
• determination is required when identifying paint colors and wires. Employee is exposed to seasonal temperatures.
• Will need to pass a criminal background check and drug screen (10-panel), and must do a face-to-face interview before being hired.
