Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with 3–6 years of experience in building systems design who is ready to take technical ownership of projects and play a key role in delivering high-quality, coordinated electrical designs.

This position is ideal for an engineer who has progressed beyond basic production work and is comfortable leading electrical design efforts, coordinating directly with other disciplines, and supporting client and contractor communication.

This is a full-time, in-office role based in Iselin, NJ.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial projects
• Perform and oversee load calculations, short circuit analysis, equipment selection, and system sizing
• Develop and review single-line diagrams, panel schedules, lighting layouts, and technical specifications
• Ensure compliance with NEC and applicable codes and standards
• Coordinate closely with mechanical, structural, and architectural disciplines
• Identify and resolve design conflicts proactively
• Review and guide junior staff in drawing production and technical accuracy
• Support construction administration efforts including submittals, RFIs, and field coordination
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and utility providers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
• EIT certification required
• PE license or actively pursuing licensure
• 3-6 years of experience with an engineering consulting firm or electrical contractor
• Demonstrated experience leading electrical design on projects from concept through construction
• Strong working knowledge of NEC and applicable building codes
