Summary:
The Venue Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operational
activities for Rawhide Western Town and Firebird Motorsports Park (FMP). This role manages the
operations event support staff, budgets, and venue projects, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional
environment. This role conducts regular facility inspections, coordinating service requests, planning
safety protocols, and ensuring adherence to all Fire, Life, and Safety standards. The manager will
collaborate with the organizations leadership to address maintenance needs, and support events while
maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service.
Responsibilities:
Team Management:
• Hire, train, supervise, schedule, and actively participate in the activities of the event operations
team.
• Lead the event operations staff to ensure efficiency, quality, cleanliness, organization, and
proficiency.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide continuous training to enhance team
performance
Cleaning and Sanitation Oversight:
• Supervise the work of Cleaning Porters and ensure all cleaning tasks are executed to high
standards across public spaces, restrooms, event spaces, and back-of-house areas.
• Ensure that pre-event cleaning, ongoing sanitation during events, and post-event breakdown
procedures are thorough and efficient.
• Confirm compliance with all sanitation protocols, including those for high-touch areas,
restrooms, and F&B service areas.
• Ensure adequate inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and support staff in reporting
maintenance or safety issues.
Event Support Coordination:
• Oversee and coordinate daily activities of Operations Event Support staff during setup, live
events, and breakdown.
• Ensure effective communication across departments for seamless event execution, including
logistics, facility readiness, and staffing.
• Collaborate with Event Staff to guarantee event layouts and operational needs are
implemented accurately.
• Provide direction to Event Support staff to ensure they represent the venue with
professionalism and provide excellent customer service during guest interactions.
Quality Control and Guest Experience:
• Conduct routine walk-throughs during and after events to ensure facility cleanliness,
readiness, and operational functionality.
• Provide ongoing feedback and training to Cleaning Porters and Event Support personnel on
guest service expectations, safety protocols, and venue standards.
• Serve as the escalation point for any cleanliness or operational issues that arise during events,
resolving concerns quickly and professionally.
Venue Management and Maintenance:
• Supervise preventive maintenance across Rawhide and FMP properties including equipment
and vehicles.
• Maintain buildings, structures, parking lots, landscaped areas, roadways, and common
grounds.
• Conduct inspections of all assets, ensuring proper record-keeping.
Project Coordination and Implementation:
• Provide written and verbal reports to Leadership on all operational activities.
• Oversee venue preparation, cleaning, and repair operations from pre-event setup through
post-event breakdown. Work with Event Staff to support events on the property, ensuring
operational excellence to achieve business goals.
Safety and Compliance:
• Implement safety planning and ensure annual compliance with all Fire, Life, and Safety
inspections.
• Serve as a champion of safety by maintaining expert knowledge of emergency procedures and
leading by example during emergency situations.
• Act as the primary on-call contact for emergencies or urgent operational issues at Rawhide
Event Center and Firebird Motorsports Park, ensuring timely and effective response.
• Ensure thorough documentation and prompt reporting of all accidents and incidents while
facilitating timely escalation and appropriate corrective measures.
Event Support and Customer Service:
• Coordinate logistics and facility setup for events, collaborating with event teams to ensure
facilities meet event requirements.
• Ensure sufficient staffing and resources for events, including arranging maintenance support
and vendor coordination.
• Maintain the highest standards of professionalism and customer service in all interactions with
the public and team members.
Financial Oversight and Budget Management:
• Oversee and manage facilities budget, including monitoring expenses, vendor contracts, and
repair costs to ensure budget adherence.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficient resource management practices.
• Provide regular budget updates to Leadership and make recommendations for capital
improvements.
Vendor and Contract Management:
• Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors, negotiating terms for
maintenance services, supplies, and project support.
• Monitor vendor performance to ensure contractual obligations are met and quality standards
are upheld.
• Review, approve, and manage service agreements to ensure they align with operational needs
and budget requirements.
Supervisor Responsibility:
Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes hiring, work allocation, training, problem
resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates
employees to achieve peak productivity and performance; provides guidance and feedback for
assigned staff.

Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee
encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work will primarily be performed in an
office and outdoor environment.
• Work will be performed both inside and outside on a regular basis, in most weather conditions.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are required as a normal part of this position.
• Occasional local day travel, Local travel to managed businesses.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be outside for an entire
shift or an extended period. During their shift an employee will be required to walk; use hands and
fingers to grab, grasp, handle, or feel; execute repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and fingers; reach
with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is regularly required sit and climb, balance, bend,
stoop, lift, carry push, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly and safely lift and/or move
50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Required Qualifications:
• High School diploma or GED.
• Five (5) years of progressive experience in facilities maintenance and events operations.
• Two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role overseeing day-to-day employee activities.
• CPR and First Aid Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for client meetings and events.
• Valid AZ driver's license, provide a 39-month satisfactory MVR report.
• Obtain a Tribal operator driving permit at the time of hire.
• A satisfactory result obtained through a test for illegal drugs.
• Acknowledge and agree to maintain a drug-free workplace.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in facilities management, hospitality, business administration, or related
field.
• Ability to exercise sound independent judgment.
• Demonstrated dependability, reliability, and self-motivation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to provide clear and comprehensive
reports.
• Competency in operating power tools and equipment as required.
• Familiarity with landscaping and grounds maintenance.
