Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven EV Project Manager to lead the development, technical shaping, and pricing of Electric Vehicle (EV) infrastructure opportunities.\n\nThe role focuses on converting early-stage client enquiries into fully developed, commercially viable, and technically deliverable projects across on-street charging, fleet charging, and High-Power Charging (HPC) programmes.\n\nYou will bring practical electrical installation and infrastructure expertise into the bidding and project development process, ensuring all assumptions reflect real-world delivery conditions.\n\nA key part of the role is developing and managing a specialist supply chain, including electrical contractors, ICP partners, designers, and technology providers. You will also support NERS accreditation activity and contribute to building future in-house electrical delivery capability.\n\nThe position carries pipeline and revenue targets and plays a central role in growing the EV infrastructure portfolio.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nOpportunity Development\n\nLead the development of technically sound and commercially viable EV infrastructure opportunities\n\nEngage with clients and stakeholders to define scope and requirements\n\nSupport pipeline growth and conversion of new business opportunities\n\nIdentify strategic opportunities within the EV infrastructure market\n\nEstimating and Commercial\n\nLead bid development and proposal preparation for EV infrastructure projects\n\nProduce cost estimates and pricing models for charging infrastructure, grid connections, and civils works\n\nWork with commercial teams to develop accurate and competitive submissions\n\nIdentify technical risks, programme constraints, and cost drivers\n\nSupply Chain Management\n\nIdentify, onboard, and manage EV infrastructure supply chain partners\n\nDevelop relationships with electrical contractors, ICPs, designers, and technology providers\n\nEnsure supply chain inputs support realistic and deliverable proposals\n\nMonitor performance, capability, and compliance standards\n\nGrid Connections and Technical Coordination\n\nCoordinate with ICPs and DNOs on capacity and connection requirements\n\nSupport grid connection applications and technical submissions\n\nEnsure compliance with DNO requirements and contestable works processes\n\nProvide technical oversight during bid and development stages\n\nNERS and Capability Development\n\nSupport NERS accreditation processes, including governance and technical standards\n\nContribute to developing internal electrical delivery capability\n\nPromote continuous improvement and technical best practice\n\nSafety and Compliance\n\nPromote a safety-first culture across all projects and partners\n\nEnsure compliance with UK electrical regulations and industry standards\n\nSupport safe systems of work and ongoing compliance initiatives\n\nSkills and Experience\n\nEssential\n\n * Significant experience delivering electrical installation or infrastructure projects\n\n * Experience in estimating, tendering, or bid development\n\n * Exposure to EV charging infrastructure or electrical vehicle charging systems\n\n * Experience managing subcontractors and supply chain partners\n\n * Strong commercial awareness with technical understanding\n\n * Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications\n\n * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills\n\nDesirable\n\n * Large-scale infrastructure delivery experience\n\n * Knowledge of DNO, ICP, and grid connection processes\n\n * Bid management and structured tender experience\n\n * Experience mentoring or managing teams\n\n * EV infrastructure industry knowledge\n\nQualifications\n\n * NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Electrical Installation or equivalent\n\n * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) desirable\n\n * City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing desirable\n\n * EV charging installation qualification (City & Guilds 2919 or equivalent) desirable\n\n * Project management qualification \n\n * Health and safety qualification desirable\n\nWe endeavour to reply to every candidate, every time but if you haven’t heard back within 10 days, please understand that you have unfortunately been unsuccessful for this position, or the position has been filled
