A respected heavy civil contractor is seeking an experiencedEstimator. This is a strategic opportunity for professionals who are skilled in preparing competitive bids and cost models for large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
Role Summary:
The Estimator will be responsible for developing accurate, well-structured proposals for water and utility infrastructure projects. Working closely with preconstruction and project leadership teams, this role ensures each estimate is compliant, competitive, and aligned with overall project goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and documentation
- Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing
- Coordinate large, multidisciplinary estimates with internal teams
- Build comprehensive scopes of work and cost models
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals
- Prepare risk assessments and bid strategy documentation
- Support project handoff and post-bid buyouts
- Develop conceptual through fully detailed estimates
- Understand project logistics and construction sequencing
- Ensure alignment with and local hiring requirements when applicable
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years estimating experience in civil construction
- At least 3 years with a construction-related degree (Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical or Geoengineering)
- Background in projects exceeding $30 million in scale
- Proficiency with tools such as HCSS, OST, Bluebeam, or equivalent
- Solid understanding of construction methods, labor markets, and engineering principles
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Compensation & Benefits:
