Skills and Experience:

This position will be responsible for bidding and organizing, as well as assisting with managing and planning current or future projects for the company. The role will help oversee specific projects to ensure the completion, as well as lead the bidding and procuring process for new work.


Estimator Responsibilities:

·       Preparation of Bid Packages/Proposals

·       Completion and submitting Bid Packages/Proposal in timely manner

·       Reviews and analyzes proposed projects, identifying cost-reduction opportunities, and provide strategies for procuring work.

·       Determines needs for estimates regarding additional staff (employee & temp labor), materials, machinery, and other resources.

·       Manages bids from subcontractors and vendors

·       Reviews plans and specs of proposed projects thoroughly to ensure accurate take offs and estimates or produced

·       Complete site visits (when required) of proposed projects

·       Creates and manages a well-organized filing system to maintain all estimation related documents

·       Subcontractor buyouts


Project Manager Responsibilities:

·       Leading safety culture for all projects

·       Responsible for controlling costs, maintaining profitability, and tracking for all projects

·       Responsible for tracking and procurement of all materials 

·       Ability to understand, manage, and be compliant in various construction contracts, including change orders when required

·       Supports, advises, and provides oversight to field construction activity

·       Identify potential risks and provide solutions to those risks

·       Develops and supervises developing of project schedules and monitors production to assure timely completion

·       Reviews cost reports and makes analysis to assist in reducing costs and maintaining productivity

·       Conducts regular project inspections and advises project supervision of work progress, quality of work and conditions regarding safety.

·       Coordinates work with subcontractors to ensure all subcontract work is within project scope and specification

·       Ability to negotiate and implement subcontractors buy-out when required

·       Preparation and submission of pay applications

·       Conducts regular meetings with project supervision to review project progress and to plan future construction activity

·       Determines the necessity of construction equipment and assure equipment is properly maintained

·       Oversight of Quality Control

·       Ability to generate and process various project related documentation including but not limited to RFI’s, Submittals, PO logs, Transmittals, etc.

·       Manages and reviews daily Raken reports to ensure accuracy and thoroughness, taking initiative to follow up with superintendent(s) when more documentation is required.

·       Approve, code, and submit project related invoicing

·       Ability to gather, manage, organize, and file documentation related to each project

 

Requirements:

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·       Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

·       Strong organizational skills and being able to document items well.

·       Strong problem-solving skills.

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office, Trimble, and any other software the company uses for projects.

·       Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or project being developed.

·       Ability to understand business needs, assess resources, and determine viable solutions.

·       Demonstrate success & ability to prioritize tasks.

·       Attention to detail while also understanding the big picture, strategy, and purpose.

·       Office hours 7:30am – 5:00pm

·       Overtime, when necessary

·       Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements


Working Conditions:

·       Travel to different projects within the area is required

·       Must be physically able to lift 15lbs

·       Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required when applicable

·       Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer
