Job Overview
As an Insulation Estimator, you will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, evaluating their insulation needs, designing cost-effective solutions, and managing projects from initial consultation to completion. This role focuses on consulting rather than traditional sales, emphasizing building trust, delivering value, and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will assess residential and commercial properties, perform take-offs (including digital take-offs from blueprints) to create accurate proposals, and project manage the installation crews to ensure successful completion of the projects you propose.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Consultation: Meet with clients to understand their insulation and energy efficiency needs for residential and commercial properties.
- Site Assessments and Take-Offs: Conduct thorough evaluations of buildings, including measurements and take-offs, either on-site or digitally using blueprints and software tools, to determine insulation requirements.
- Solution Design: Develop cost-effective, energy-efficient insulation solutions tailored to client needs and project specifications.
- Proposal Development: Create detailed, accurate proposals based on site assessments and digital take-offs, ensuring clarity and transparency for clients.
- Project Management: Oversee approved projects, coordinating with installation crews to ensure timely, high-quality completion of the projects you propose.
- Customer Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact, maintaining clear communication and follow-up to ensure client satisfaction.
- Documentation: Utilize company software to document project details, proposals, and client interactions with precision, including digital take-off data.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with installation crews and management to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with company standards.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of verifiable sales or consulting experience, preferably in-home or commercial settings.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with clients and present solutions effectively.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using computer software for documentation, proposals, project management, and digital take-offs from blueprints.
- Background: Clean background check and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Work Ethic: Detail-oriented, organized, and committed to high ethical standards and customer-first principles.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.
Qualifications
- Industry Experience: Background in insulation, construction, residential real estate, home inspection, or home improvement industries (e.g., windows, siding, roofing).
- Technical Skills: Experience performing take-offs (on-site or digital) for residential or commercial projects or the ability to learn quickly.
- Certifications: Building science training, such as BPI (Building Performance Institute) certifications, is a plus.
- Construction Knowledge: Familiarity with construction processes, materials, blueprints, and energy efficiency principles.
