About the Role:

This is an on-site position Estimator / Planner plays a key role in ensuring our manufacturing programs are accurately scoped, properly resourced, and executed on schedule. This position is responsible for developing detailed cost estimates and production plans that align with engineering requirements, manufacturing capabilities, and customer expectations.

You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and quality to translate technical requirements into realistic schedules and budgets. Your ability to analyze data, understand processes, and anticipate risks will directly support program success, cost control, and on-time delivery.

We are a small, fast-paced aerospace company, so this role goes beyond traditional estimating and planning. The right candidate is adaptable, takes ownership, and is comfortable contributing wherever needed across the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in estimating/planning within aerospace or a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
  • Experience with estimating and program management tools.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and cost structures.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience working on programs in customer facing roles.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience working in a startup or small aerospace company.
  • Familiarity with ERP Systems (ProShop, SAP, Oracle or similar).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
  • Knowledge of FAA, AS9100, or similar regulatory requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with testing, assembly, or troubleshooting hardware.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and aerospace materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed cost estimates including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead expenses.
  • Coordinate with procurement and manufacturing teams to meet program schedule requirements.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation to scope and requirements.
  • Coordinate with procurements and manufacturing teams to ensure resources are aligned with schedules.
  • Monitor program progress and adjust estimates and plans as conditions change.
  • Identify cost saving opportunities and process improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with internal team, customers, and suppliers to resolve issues and clarify requirements.
