JOB PURPOSE:

 

Estimator has the responsibility of analyzing proposals and requirements necessary in establishing cost estimates.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

 

  1. Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents.
  2. Create and verify data using specifications and/or drawings.
  3. Gather, evaluate and analyze data using current and historical data to develop quotes and proposals.
  4. Work with engineering, purchasing and other related departments to include all cost components involved.
  5. Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
  6. Interacts with purchasing and production to maintain accuracy of estimating data base.
  7. Maintains technical knowledge by attending workshops, visiting suppliers and reading publications.

 

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

 

  1. Strong communication and analytical skills.
  2. Excellent problem solving, interpersonal communication .
  3. Knowledge of blueprints and technical specifications.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

 

Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years experience.
