Job Description

Estimator\n\nLocation: Gloucester\nSector: General Works – Projects up to £2m\nSalary: Up to £60,000 + Package\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nThis position offers the chance to join a long-standing regional contractor delivering general works, refurbishments, interiors and small-scale new-build schemes up to £2m. As an Estimator, you’ll play a key role in pricing a diverse range of tenders, working closely with project teams to ensure accurate, competitive and profitable bids.\n\nYou’ll join a trusted business with a strong local reputation, stable leadership and a collaborative approach that values strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners.\n\nRole Overview\n\nYou will be responsible for:\n\n * \n\n Preparing full cost estimates for projects up to £2m.\n\n * \n\n Measuring, quantifying and analysing tender drawings and documents.\n\n * \n\n Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations.\n\n * \n\n Supporting value engineering and commercial risk assessments.\n\n * \n\n Producing tender submissions and handover documents for delivery teams.\n\n * \n\n Working closely with commercial and operational colleagues to ensure viable bids.\n\n * \n\n Maintaining strong cost control knowledge of local supply chain rates.\n\nAbout You\n\n * \n\n Estimating experience with a main or regional contractor.\n\n * \n\n Background working on refurbishments, fit-out, small works or general construction.\n\n * \n\n Strong measurement, analytical and numerical skills.\n\n * \n\n Able to develop competitive bids with commercial awareness.\n\n * \n\n Good communicator with the ability to liaise confidently with subcontractors and clients.\n\n * \n\n Self-motivated, organised and capable of prioritising deadlines.\n\nCompany Profile\n\nYou’ll be joining a reliable, community-focused contractor known for repeat business and quality delivery across a varied portfolio.
