We are seeking an experienced Estimator or Senior Estimator (Owner’s Rep) with large facility and/or airport facility experience to join our Program Management (PM) Team at the Orlando International Airport. The program consists of comprehensive construction activities for four international and domestic gates, the development of tenant and concessionaire spaces, an Independent Carrier System (ICS) Baggage system, and the installation of eight Passenger Boarding Bridges with Pre-conditioned air and Ground Power to support international and domestic travel.
Requirements:
· 6+ years’ experience in horizontal and vertical construction with 4 years of estimating experience.
· Must possess knowledge and experience associated with Architectural, Civil, and/or MEP disciplines.
· Undergraduate / Graduate degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or related field.
Position Summary:
The successful candidate/s participates in all aspects of the change order process from Bulletin/RFI to final execution of change orders on multiple simultaneous construction projects. You will produce change order verification estimates for large complex projects. These estimates encompass a wide range of changes from small to substantial dollar amounts from many disciplines and are to be independent of the contractor’s proposed pricing. You will cooperate with the owner and their staff, the engineer/architect, and the contractor and their subs. The estimator will generate and maintain a database of historical costs while maintaining detailed and organized records/logs of Bulletins, RFI’s, Potential Change Orders, Change Order Requests, and the processing of same to execution.
Skill Requirements:
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand many aspects of a large drawing and specification package and associated complex communications.
- Ability to calculate quantities such as weight, length, area, volume, etc., using basic geometry and math.
- Ability to identify changes to work scopes as detailed/changed by the engineer/architect.
- Must be able to generate detailed take-offs and estimates.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with good judgment and decision making.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft software and Revu/Bluebeam.
- Ability to build consensus and to negotiate disputes and effectively mitigate cost related issues.
- Organized self-starter with the ability to handle numerous projects, prioritize workload, and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to build and foster relationships with management, coworkers, contractors, and Owner.
- Superior communication, planning, and organizational skills both oral and in writing.
- Other associated tasks as required/assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay Range: Up to $109,928.15 per year depending upon experience.
